Metro United Way helps support more than 100 health and human service agencies serving residents in our seven county community of Hardin, Jefferson, Oldham and Shelby counties in Kentucky and Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana.Metro United Way is a local, independent non-profit organization founded in Louisville in 1917. Today, Metro United Way is the largest local charitable funder of health and human services in our region – Hardin, Jefferson, Oldham and Shelby counties in Kentucky; and Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana. We invest in more than 100 local charities, which touch the lives of two in three people in our community at some point in their lives. A few of the best-known organizations we support are the Salvation Army, the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross. When you give to Metro United Way, together we improve more lives.
