WFS provides networking, support and advocacy for women firefighters and other women in the fire and rescue service. For many women in this highly nontraditional and still very male (98%) job, having other women to turn to as role models can make a critical difference between a productive career and being forced out of a job they love. WFS supports women who work or volunteer in this dangerous but very fulfilling field -- and who break new ground for women at the same time.
