Protecting the ecological integrity of Burns Bog by educating people about the environmental values of peatlands by focusing on the largest raised peat bog on the west coast of the Americas. It is an "island of subarctica in a southern clime' located next to Canada's third largest city, Vancouver. Peat bogs are important to wildlife, the health of rivers and fish and are carbon sinks which are important to reducing global warming
