Cause Description:
Pets and People is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that rescues & adopts approximately 250 dogs & cats each month. We rescue primarily from the numerous area municipal kill shelters. Free dog obedience classes & a behavior problem hotline are offered to all adopters. Pets & People also works to assist our community with the pet over-population problem by offering bi-annual low cost spaying & neutering to the general public as well as free spaying & neutering for low income households and feral cats. Our volunteers are involved in numerous other "pet projects" such as pet therapy nursing home visits and fostering programs.
