Cause Description:
Founded in 1899 in Harrisburg, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides comprehensive, high quality, cost-effective home health and hospice care serives. These services are available to home-bound residents of Central Pennsylavia regardless of their ability to pay. A very special focus on "Telehomecare" allows at-risk patients in remote locations to take part in their health care through a home-to-VNA computer system. The technology enables the assessment of lung and heart sounds, oxygen saturation and blood sugar levels, weight and more! Nurses are able to verify correct medication dosages and assess wounds. Another special focus is on our Hospice services. When patients are facing a terminal illness, they want to live their remaining days as comfortably as possible in their own home.
