Cause Description:
Earthwatch Institute promotes sustainable conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage by creating partnerships between scientists, the general public, educators and business. We believe that achieving a sustainable future not only requires objective scientific data from the field but also that the scientific process must engage the general public if it is to change the world. To that end we involve people from all walks of life directly in global field research. This year Earthwatch will support more than 130 expeditions in 48 countries on six continents and will send some 4,000 members of the public to work with 200 scientists.
