Cause Description:
The Spay/Neuter Hotline of Graham County helps pet owners pay to have their pets spayed or neutered by paying 2/3 of the cost of these operations. From 10 July 1998 through 14 March 2003, we have helped pay for 3218 spay/neuter operations, 289 cat adoptions & 338 dog adoptions (our adoption programs started later). We also help pay adoption fees at the animal shelter. The future pet owner pays $35.00 for an Adopt a Shelter Cat/Dog certificate (this money goes to the shelter) and we pay the additional $40.00.We also have a feral cat trap program through which we loan out traps and pay the shelter fee when the trapped cats are taken to the shelter. We are two women doing this work and are always looking for funding.
