Cause Description:
Canadian Friends Service Committee acts on the peace and social justice concerns of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Canada. Its work is built on the foundation of Quaker belief that there is value and the essence of God in every person, and is dedicated to peace, equality and simplicity. Founded in 1931, the CFSC continues these traditions today, assisting projects in support of Friends' concerns around the world. In Canada, CFSC helps refugees from regions of conflict around the world, supports aboriginal peoples in their struggle for justice, and promotes conflict resolution and alternative responses to crime in the community. CFSC is a registered charity for income tax purposes and donations to CFSC are received with gratitude. For qualified international projects, Canadian Friends Service Committee receives matching funding from the Canadian International Development Agency.
