Cause Description:
Maryland Community Kitchen, formerly Moveable Feast, was founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1989. Since its founding, Maryland Community Kitchen has been committed to ensure that all people who are living with HIV/AIDS have their nutritional needs met on a daily basis by providing freshly prepared home delivered meals and groceries. Maryland Community Kitchen provides both Daily Home Delivered Meals and Groceries to Go service to not only the HIV- infected individual, but dependent children, spouses and caretakers in the household. In its tenth year of service Maryland Community Kitchen continues to grow and take on the new challenges that face our community. In the past year Maryland Community Kitchen initiated a new program called "People of the Move." An employment program for People Living With HIV/AIDS, People On the Move is a shuttle service used by the homeless population in the city of Baltimore. Maryland Community Kitchen is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
