Cause Description:
Aurora Dawn Foundation, founded in 1993, focuses on providing housing, support and community for otherwise homeless persons with HIV/AIDS living in the greater San Francisco area. Current projects are: MARTY'S PLACE - A residence in the Mission District of San Francisco. It provides rent-subsidized housing for 7 members, and a house director. Relationships with various agencies and non-profit organizations offer support services to our house members as they are needed. Our goal is to lead these individuals towards independent, healthy living. THE WOMEN'S PROGRAM - Provides the basic necessities of life (food, clothing, etc.) to women with HIV/AIDS and their children. Our goal is to alleviate daily challenges to their lives, so that these women may focus on the personal healthcare as a top priority. Working with bay area health organizations allows us to offer clients a variety of services that they would not normally have. We also sponsor scholarships to help clients attend personal wellness education classes and retreats.
