Cause Description:
Fight! for Kagawa is dedicated to raising money to restore the Kagawa House, which 24 memebers of the Nakamura Cooperative call home. Kagawa is a beautiful, Victorian house close to the University of Michigan. In addition to providing inexpensive housing for students who could not otherwise afford the cost of living in Ann Arbor, Kagawa provides a community for people of different cultures and beliefs to live together and understand each other's perspectives. We now stand in danger of losing this house. We must either perform repairs to meet city codes or sell the building. The lot is zoned possibl commercial, and since demolishing the house would appear cost effective from a business viewpoint, the building will almost certainly be raised if we must sell it. We refuse to allow the powers that be to convert the home we love to parking lot or a Big Boy. We hope you will help us save a living part of the body of our community. Thank you!!
