Apopka, Florida

Cause Description:
The mission of Community Health Centers, Inc. is to "provide quality primary health care and promote wellness to our growing family of patients." We are a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization which provides primary medical and dental services on a sliding fee scale at seven locations throughout Central Florida. Beginning operations in a trailer in South Apopka in 1973, CHC is today one of the premiere ambulatory healthcare providers in the state of Florida. Affordable care should not be second class care and at Community Health Center it is the best care available at any price. CHC has voluntarily chosen to be accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and has maintained accreditation continuously since 1989. During 1999, we provided nearly 95,000 medical and dental visits to 28,028 patients. Approximately 74.6% of all patients were at or below the federal poverty level and only 4.8% were at or above 200% of Federal poverty level.
