The New Jersey Women and AIDS Network(NJWAN) was founded in 1988 to address the needs of women in the HIV/AIDS pandemic. NJWAN's mission is to: reduce the spread of HIV infection in women; support the self-determination of women living with HIV/AIDS; improve access to quality care and treatment; educate service providers; and advocate for appropriate policies in the women and AIDS pandemic. The programs and services provided by NJWAN focus on identifying issues facing women, and through prevention, education, and advocacy training, helping women to establish a voice within the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
