The Norfolk SPCA was established in 1892 and is one of the oldest humane societies in the United States. The Norfolk SPCA shelters unwanted animals from the Tidewater area of Virgina and seeks appropriate adoptive homes for these animals entrusted to its care. Our organization offers educational prorams, pet therapy, pet loss/grief support groups, and low cost rabies vaccination clinics. The Norfolk SPCA operates an in-house spay/ neuter clinic for all animals adopted from our shelter. Our shelter relies exclusively on the generous donations from the public and local businesses. We receive no local, state or federal funding.
