Cause Description:
Friends of HOLA, a 501(c)(3) organization, was formed with the mission of raising funds to support and benefit our school. As a charter school, HOLA faces financial challenges every year. Our school receives the lowest amount of per pupil funding of any school in Hoboken, including other charters. Additionally, HOLA receives approximately 50% less funding per student in comparison with Hoboken district schools. and unlike many other states, the State of New Jersey does not assist charter schools with building and facilities costs. As a result, each year there is a financial gap that needs to be filled so that HOLA can continue deliver a world-class bilingual education to our students. Funds raised by Friends of HOLA go toward the important programs and activities that our children benefit from every day. Friends of HOLA has funded over $45,000 in classroom technology, our new Middle School Library, instruments, art supplies and our hugely popular Artists in Residence program. Our school depends upon the generous support of our parent community and the tireless work of our Friends of HOLA team. Thank you for continuing to support us!
