Save Our Sons is a community-based, primarily volunteer-run organization providing inspiration, education, and mentoring relationships for "at-risk" African American adolescent males in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. SOS offers Rites of Passage and values-based programs, placing heavy emphasis on the roles of adult mentors and role models in motivating and instructing young men in life style choices that are alternatives to crime, violence, and self-defeating behavior. SOS intends to build men responsible for their behavior and aware of their role in the African american culture, primarily by example and mentorship and secondarily through the instructional process.
