Cause Description:
The Kauai Food Bank feeds about 10% of the total population each month. Half of those we feed are children and 15% are elderly. For every $1.00 contributed to the Food Bank, we can secure and distribute about $16.00 worth of groceries to the needy through 107 member non-profit agencies/churches. The Food Bank also provides vocational rehabilitation to our volunteers and operates a 3 acre farm in Anahola. Our goal is to eliminate hunger from the islands of Kauai and Niihau.
