BEANIES FOR PREEMIES, INC. is a nation wide charity organization dedicated to bringing happiness to premature and critically ill infants and their parents in Neonatal Intensive Care Units . New medical reports have been written which state that when premature and critically ill infants have something soft and warm next to them continuously, they tend to be calmer and move around less. This promotes growth and healing. Beanie babies offer comfort to the babies, since the bean toy feels like a hand cuddling around the infant's body. Beanie babies conform to most any natural body position by distributing the beans differently. Beanie babies are used to prop arm boards (used for infants that must have IV's), tubes, nasal tubes, etc. When sets of twins or triplets are born, the nurses lay the beanies on or next to the babies to act as if they are still next to their sibling(s), as they were in the womb providing warmth, security, and constant physical contact.
