Our mission is to provide high quality residential care in a Christian environment for children in crisis, primarily from the greater Houston area. To provide children with love, security, a sense of self worth, and opportunities that will prepare them for a successful life. To provide counseling and support necessary to strengthen families and unite children with their family of origin or a permanent family whenever possible. Boys and Girls Country was established in 1971 and is a 501 ©(3) not-for-profit charitable Home. Located 35 miles northwest of Houston, Boys and Girls Country has capacity to serve a total of 88 children at any one time. The Home provides a warm, loving, family-like atmosphere where children have the opportunity to grow up safe and secure and develop to their full potential. The average age is twelve and the average stay is two years, although some students stay longer. Each resident lives on campus in a cottage with a set of trained houseparents and attends public school. They also participate in outside activities, such as church, band, sports, summer camps, etc.
