Northwest School of the Arts (NWSA) is a visual and performing arts magnet grades 6-12 in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). We offer a unique curriculum centered upon the following areas: theatre (acting, technical, and costume design), musical theatre, dance, music (vocal/instrumental), and visual arts. These programs enhance academic accomplishment and promote excellence in the development of students’ passion for the arts. NWSA offers a plethora of opportunities to meet the academic, social, and overall needs of our students. They are enrolled in majors/art tracks courses for middle and high school, including a historically successful Advanced Placement program. As a public school our program costs (art supplies, stage materials, costumes, theatrical licenses, tools, sound systems, make-up, instruments, etc.) are self-funded through fundraisers.
