Cause Description:
Founded in 1982, the Center for Atomic Radiation Studies, Inc. is a medical non-profit under 501(c)3 dedicated to collecting and disseminating credible information on the human health effects of ionizing radiation. Our first focus was Atomic Veterans and later we expanded our focus to include people who live near nuclear facilities or who have received nuclear medicine exposure. Our current project is the REAP project (Radium Experiments Assessment Project) concerning the 1-2 million people who were give nasal radium irradiation treatments in the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's through the Army, Navy, Air Force, and hospitals and clinics associated with Johns Hopkins, the State of Maryland, the State of New York, the State of California, and other states.
