Beyond Christmas is a non-profit organization that works to expand the circle of concern and support for others EVERYDAY, not just at Christmas. The Mission of the Beyond Christmas Ministry is to bless as many people as we can and encourage others to do the same by looking for opportunities to commit Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs), Spontaneous Acts of Compassion™ (SACs), and Planned Acts of Kindness™ (PAKs) - EVERYDAY. We're actively going throughout Western New York and other areas (and eventually all 50 states with your help) searching for people and opportunities to carry out Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs) and Spontaneous Acts of Compassion™ (SACs™). Our mission is to carry out 1 MILLION random acts of kindness and spontaneous acts of compassion with the help of like-minded people by Christmas 2014 and each year thereafter. WE WANT - • Helping others without expecting anything in return to become a habit! • Concern and support for someone other than ourselves to be as natural as breathing. • Caring for and about others to become the rule again, rather than the exception. Things like holding the door open for someone, or giving up your seat on the bus or subway for a lady, a child, an elderly person or someone who looks like they really need it! Give that extra penny at the register and more! YOU can help us give the gift of kindness in so called little ways and in some not so little ways. Whether it’s buying groceries, help to pay the mortgage, rent, school tuition, or medical bills, assistance in starting or expanding an approved business, funds for a group field trip or additional funding for a variety of humanitarian and charitable needs, we want to help. Through our expanding network of churches, other non-profit organizations, business partners, and like-minded individuals, we will also assist with non-financial needs. Our growing base of volunteers will provide help in a variety of areas for those needing assistance. Things like running errands, completing household chores, preparing a home cooked meal, washing your car or walking your dog. Sometimes all that's needed is a smile . We're not just raising money - we're raising awareness of those in need. Like our seniors, our youth and those with physical limitations. We're raising hopes, and accountability to a new level. Be on the lookout for our "Mobile Angels" in your area, who come bearing gifts. From our "Lunch is on Me," RAK where we pay for someone's lunch (dinner or breakfast) to our "Layaway Love" RAK where we go into department stores nationwide and randomly pay off layaway balances, to our "Appreciation @ the Airport" RAK where we award our brave men and women in the military as they return from or go off to serve us, to our many other RAK's for First Responders, Teachers, Students, Seniors, Clergy, Moms, Dads and the "Average Joe" (and Joan). We actively seek out people to bless at Christmas and BEYOND.
