Cause Description:
The Figs 4 Fun Foundation was established to plant a Preservation Orchard where the many varieties of figs (Ficus carica) can be conserved, displayed, shared, and enjoyed by the public. The Preservation Orchard will facilitate interaction with the collection through tastings, demonstrations, seminars, and workshops; through research added to the website-database; and by distribution of propagative cuttings and plants. The Preservation Orchard is the foundational and core program of the Figs 4 Fun Foundation and will provide the basis for all future programs. These programs, such as the Fig Fiesta, will advance the educational and research goals and provide the basis for the wide distribution of plant material into hands of urban and backyard gardeners.
