Mutt Match L.A. is a registered 501(c)(3) non profit corporation governed by the laws of the State of California. We are an equal opportunity ALL breed rescue. While we do not specialize in any one particular breed, we are bleeding hearts for puppies, seniors and special needs cases. While many people believe cute cuddly puppies are the first to be adopted from shelter’s the truth is, that simply isn’t true. Mutt Match believes in intervention; intervening when possible keeping dogs out of an already over crowded shelter system where they are vulnerable to illnesses, over crowding, abusers and less then compassionate/capable homes. Mutt Match is blessed to have its own rescue facility, The Mutt Match Rescue Ranch & Sanctuary exclusively for the dogs we rescue and in our care. Those that may be unadoptable due to health or behavioral issues remain at the ranch for life long sanctuary. Whether it’s ten days or ten years we are committed to our rescues for a lifetime. We do not euthanize dogs for anything less then quality of life. Mutt Match provides hospice care, comfort, love and a safe haven for the terminally ill and the hard core cases. We will leave no stone unturned while providing the best care and medical options for our dogs. However, we will not allow an ailing dog to suffer if his/her quality of life is poor. It is a gift to be able to end an animals suffering and when that difficult decision has to be made we ensure it is done with love, respect and dignity. Caring for the uncared for requires funds, on average a dog pulled from the shelter will cost between $200 - $500 and upwards depending on his/her needs and how long they remain in our care. These expenses do not include daily care of food, grooming, etc. or daily operating expenses. We do not rescue to reach any quotas, we believe in quality over quantity therefore the number of dogs we rescue varies from year to year. All our adopted dogs are appropriately vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption. We are their voice and we will continue to fight for the rights animals; the right to medical care, basic needs, a loving home and dignity Mutt Match relies solely on public donations, no amount is to small and benefits the health and welfare of abandoned and abused.
