Cause Description:
The Cancer Research Foundation of America is a national nonprofit health foundation whose mission is the prevention of cancer through scientific research and education. The Foundation has provided funding to more than 200 scientists and established investigators at more than 100 leading universities and medical centers across the country. Its grant and fellowship program is one of only ten non-federal grants programs with a selection process approved by the National Institutes of Health. The Foundation also focuses on education and outreach programs as a vehicle for increasing awareness about the prevention and early detection of cancer. The Foundation's main focus is on the following cancers: colorectal, breast, lung, skin, prostate and cervical. CRFA is the founder of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
