WeTip is a non profit, tax exempt corporation #95-2775100. WeTip is an established, highly successful nationwide crime fighting program. WeTip has served Communities around the country for the past 25 years. In 1982 WeTip expanded to provide 24 hour a day, seven days a week telephone service to take information on all major crimes for the entire nation. WeTip is often referred to as the Grandfather of all anonymous tiplines. To date, WeTip information has totaled: Tips: 312,444 Arrests: 12,750 Convictions: 6,243 Drug Seizures: $317,054,277 Recovered Property: $ 15,048,951 Arson Damage on our cases: $ 18,343,315 Rewards Paid: $ 399,035 WeTip is successful for the following reasons: Almost all successful investigations are based on witness supplies information. We need a source of such information when people are not willing to work directly with law enforcement personnel. Citizens feel secure with the anonymity provided by WeTip; they are not calling an agency of the establishment, but a neutral third party citizens group. The program is truly anonymous, not just confidential or secret. The rewards are also distributed on an anonymous basis, using case numbers and three part code names.
