Pen Pals Inc. Animal Shelter is a No-Kill shelter/adoption center located on the grounds of Dixon Correctional Institute serving the surrounding areas with homeless cats and dogs, reducing pet overpopulation, etc. Our program includes comprehensive training of future veterinarians in shelter environments and also provides programs promoting rehabilitation of those incarcerated at DCI.
