Cause Description:
The Citrus College Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization whose mission is to provide ancillary funding to support programs, facilities enhancements, student scholarships, and student services for Citrus College. The college which was built in 1915 is the oldest public community college in Los Angeles County. It has an enrollment of approximately 11,000 students enrolled in credit programs, 8,500 enrolled in noncredit programs, and some 10,000 enrolled in community service enrichment type programs. Fully accredited, the college prepares students to transfer to four year colleges and universities and provides a wide range of vocational training programs that prepare students to enter the work force. The college serves many nontraditional populations, and approximately 65 percent of students are cultural minorities.
