he mission of the Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) is to enhance the lives of those affected by brain injury through education, advocacy, research, and local support groups; and to reduce the incidence of brain injury through prevention. The Brain Injury Association of Michigan's vision is to be recognized as a strong, viable, voluntary health agency providing leadership on traumatic and acquired brain injury through a broad range of services, and supporting research on brain injury treatment. BIAMI’s services are needed more than ever before as military service members return to our communities with brain injuries suffered in the defense of our country. TBIs from roadside bombs and other causes have become the “signature injury” of Iraq, Afghanistan and other present-day conflicts.
