MISSION H.E.A.L, Inc. is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization committed to reducing the unwanted pet population and bringing to an end the use of euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals as a means of population control. We achieve this through: Promoting spay/neuter Promoting high standards for animal welfare and responsible pet ownership Fostering compassion and respect for animals Rescuing homeless animals, placing them in foster homes where they are provided with healing for the whole animal – mind, body, and spirit – and finding responsible, loving homes for them to live the rest of their natural lives VISION Actively participate in the creation of a world where animals are afforded active compassion, respect, and appropriate care so that cruelty, abuse, neglect, and needless killing are no longer present. VALUES Help nurture positive relationships that bond people to animals and encourage recognition of animals as beings deserving of respect, love, and responsible care; teach people how to instill polite, acceptable behavior in their animals through compassionate positive reinforcement and thereby decrease surrenders of animals to a shelter. Enhance the lives of animals through the promotion of spay and neuter procedures and the availability of low-cost spay and neuter programs, provide nurturance and healing for the whole animal by addressing their needs for health in mind, body, and heart, and tirelessly work to restore a high quality of life where they receive the dignity they deserve. Advance the highest standards in animal welfare through education to achieve healthier, more humane conditions for all animals, share educational information to facilitate increased adoptions and decreased companion animal relinquishment and abandonment, and increase the status of mixed-breed animals in order to increase acceptance and reduce “throw-aways”. Lead by example to motivate future generations to be more compassionate and more likely to adopt an animal in need, establish a global network of partners who share our goals and will act to further our mission.
