Mission Aid Project is an American based 501c3 charity based in Lafayette, LA. It was established in 2009 through the efforts of its founder, Daniel Musinguzi. He has been helping Ugandan children since he took the first children in off the streets during a rainstorm in August of 2000. He took home several children after finding them living on the streets, hungry, wet ( sleeping in plastic bags), unloved, sick, and uncared for by anyone. He couldn't just walk by and ignore them like all the other people. MAP has a mission and we hope that you can become part of it. MAP’s core mission is helping the children of East Africa obtain good nutrition, safe housing, medical needs, and educational needs. MAP has been helping take orphaned and homeless children off the streets of Uganda for many years now, placing them in residential homes, providing medical care, education and a sense of family. MAP is currently providing for the needs of 240 children, living at one of three facilities in Uganda. There are currently 40 children living near Namukoge Village in the Kalilo District of Eastern Uganda, 100 children are living in rented facilities in the Kampala District of the capital city, and then another 100 children are living near Fort Portal in Western Uganda. MAP is hoping to expands its care of of homeless and children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic to also be able to help the following organizations in East Africa, Mafubira United Aids Ministry, Mafubira Community Clinic, New Victory Childcare, Child-Hope Zambia, and United with Hope’s Malawi HS Student Initiative. The goal is to be able to provide assistance to CBO and NGO’s based in the local communities and working for the same goals as MAP. Each organization has been evaluated and determined to meet both the goals of MAP and the local NGO/CBO standards of their individual governments. We engage in decreasing the spread of HIV/AIDS. We provide vulnerable children with an opportunity to experience love, care, protection, growth and development in a family-oriented and Godly environment. We bring education to those children who would otherwise remain illiterate.
