Healing for Heroes is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting active and veteran military personnel cope with post-traumatic stress, helping them lead healthy, balanced and productive lives. To this end, we will strive to: Provide and train dogs as potential companions with whom the veterans can interact in a positive manner. Provide a safe and secure environment for our dogs and our veterans. Facilitate counseling services for veterans as these services become available. Foster awareness, understanding and acknowledgement of Post Traumatic Stress and wipe away the stigma of PTSD. Foster awareness, understanding and acknowledgement of the healing value that a companion animal can provide.??Our endstate is a program that connects rescue dogs with military personnel and provides a way for both to help each other enjoy happy, balanced and healthy lives together.
