Cause Description:
Family & Youth Initiative (DCFYI) creates a supportive community and lasting relationships for teens and young adults who are in or have aged out of foster care. We make a difference in the lives of older children by forging pathways to adoption while building bridges between youth and a community of adults willing to open their hearts and homes. DCFYI recruits and matches teens in foster care with mentors and weekend host parents; holds events to help youth and adults make connections; helps youth find adoptive parents; and provides ongoing support to young adults who have aged out of care.
