The Piedmont Breastfeeding Coalition was started in January 1999. Our Mission and Vision is as follows : The Piedmont Breastfeeding Coalition is a non-profit, organization whose goal is to promote breastfeeding. We will strive to inform our community, both the members of the general public as well as the medical community, of the advantages and health benefits of breastfeeding. We will educate, assist and support pregnant and nursing mothers and their families, in an effort to increase the number of mothers who choose to breastfeed and to increase the duration of the time that these mothers choose to breastdfeed. We recognize the long-range positive effects that and increase in breastfeeding rates and durations will have on the health, economics and ecology of our society.
