Cause Description:
La Escuelita de Esperanza is an after-school arts and literacy program serving impoverished children in San José, Costa Rica. Through partnerships with international volunteers and with the local community, we provide programming to fill the gaps of Costa Rica's public education system and to ensure that children are supported in their learning. In the Escuelita, children have a safe space to play, learn, and explore the arts. We also offer the only library to which they have access.
