Cause Description:
Pawnee County Humane Society was established as a steering committee under the City of Larned in April of 2005, after several meetings of concerned citizens. Our first priority was to help the animals that found themselves in the Larned City Pound without being claimed by an owner. Our goal was to decrease the number of animals being euthanized. As the awareness of our efforts grew, we began helping animals from Pawnee County. We opened our new animal shelter in August of 2011, enabling us to help even more animals in Larned and Pawnee County.
