The ultimate goal of Workbound is stated succinctly in its mission: Workbound will utilize its energies and resources of people to support students from all levels of success in school as they explore careers that enhance the quality of their lives. Workbound offers choice. Students enter Workbound on a voluntary basis with their parent, a personal advisor and a business mentor; participation is not based on academic performance or financial position. Nor is participation based on post-secondary education goals. Any student who wants to prepare for their professional career after high school will benefit from Workbound.
