Cause Description:
We are a Russian boy scout organization that was exiled from Russia in 1917 after the communist revolution made scouting illegal in the former Soviet Union. We have been working ever since to educate our youth in a tradition of scouting and to maintain their respect for the Russian Heritage. After the fall of the Soviet Union Scouting has made a strong revival in Russia, in a large part due to our efforts in keeping this organization alive. This year we are trying to raise money to send a group of Russian American kids to Russia for a 100 year anniversary of Russian Scouting which was founded in 1909. It would be a symbolic journey, but many of these families are unable to afford this journey. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
