Project Rebirth is the only film documenting the entire rebuild of the World Trade Center site using time-lapse photography. With twelve motion-picture cameras situated in and around the Ground Zero, taking one frame of film every five minutes, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our cameras continue to capture the entire rebuild until the last building is completed. We are also following ten people over 10 years, as they attempt to cope and heal following the events of 9/11. In effect, we are blending a physical time-lapse process with a time-lapse of the human and emotional journey. Our mission is to document the entire rebuilding process to ensure that people today and in future generations experience the rebirth of Ground Zero and learn from our nations ability to recover. We intend for the project to be a historical record providing insight into the human coping and healing processes while showing the regeneration of a major urban area. The unique nature and quality of our content will drive many opportunities for Project Rebirth, most importantly the documentary film that will help future generations and a global audience to reflect on 9/11, as well as our subjects efforts to cope with its aftermath. Project Rebirths progress to date has allowed us to begin to focus on the potential of re-investing any commercial proceeds from our documentary to endow a Project Rebirth Center for victims of and first responders to situations of traumatic loss.
