The New York City Police Museum strives to chronicle the history of the world's most famous police department and the vital contribution the NYPD has made to the history of New York City itself. This is accomplished through exhibitions that detail the law enforcement techniques of the NYPD over the last 160 years, and how they have changed to reflect the social, political and cultural climate of New York City. It is also accomplished through educational programs for children, many from underserved neighborhoods, who meet real NYPD officers and see first-hand what it takes to be one of New York's Finest.
