Cause Description:
La Señora Research Institute (LSRI)conducts research and holds lectures on the unique history of the Rancho Era of Early California under Spain, Mexico and the United States, especially as it relates to the Rancho Boca de Santa Monica 1839 Land Grant and to the 1920's Jose Mojica Hacienda in which LSRI is housed. To acknowledge the Haciendas 1920-1950s owners relationship to Old Hollywood, an on-site classic 1930s 50-seat movie theater shows their films (many with Academy Awards) made by these prior residents. Mojicas films are also shown in Spanish. With the exception of Interns, all LSRI staff are volunteers.
