WDVX is a listener-supported, nonprofit, independent radio station incorporated in 1991 to sustain the efforts of regional musicians, writers, storytellers and other artists through broadcast activities and provide cultural and educational opportunities through regionally focused, diverse programming. WDVX provides an exciting and ambitious programming schedule with more than 130 hours of original programming and 18 specialty shows each week. One of our most popular events is the WDVX Blue Plate Special, a daily live performance broadcast from the Knoxville Visitors Center in downtown Knoxville. More than 16,000 people attended a WDVX Blue Plate Special in 2006 and enjoyed performances by local, regional and national artists. The WDVX Blue Plate Special received the 2006 Museum/Attraction of the Year award from the Knoxville Tourism Alliance.
