Deanas Educational Theater, (DET -- formerly Deana's Fund) is a nationally recognized, innovative leader in developing and producing comprehensive educational theater programs on relational violence. The Yellow Dress, Remote Control, Doing the Right Thing, All Starz and other programs reach over 120,000 people every year in diverse settings. Deanas Educational Theater programs draw a clear picture of the attitudes and actions that create and comprise power imbalances that lead to unhealthy relationships. Each performance is followed by a discussion that debriefs the behaviors seen in the plays, explores solutions and presents resources for help. Training programs for administrators, teachers, parents and students are designed to create a community-wide response to violence. The organization uses the public health prevention model to provide primary prevention strategies to help audiences reduce the risk of relational violence. The programs reach people of all ages, but focus on elementary, high school, college and military audiences.
