Cause Description:
h2 Empower, inc. is a not for profit corporation dedicated to empowering people for independence and sustainable development through education and self help initiatives. We are concentrating on development in the southern region of Ethiopia, a rural area with almost no international presence, and in Burundi, one of the poorest countries in Africa. We have built a community library in the largest school in the town of Hossana and send books to all the educational institutions in the area. We have sent 13,000 pounds of books to teacher training colleges, primary and secondary schools, and a health college and public library, and trained 430 primary school teachers. You can help improve the living conditions for the people in Hossana, whose aveage income is about $100 a year by supporting our literacy programs. Thank you for your help.
