ARNO is a nonprofit organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, including responding to their immediate medical needs, as well as those animals who have been neglected, abused and/or deprived of love. ARNO promotes and actively engages in the foster, adoption, and reunion of pets with caretakers, as well as spay/neutering of all companion animals. ARNO operates a no-kill triage shelter to house and treat the pets we rescue while they wait for a permanent loving home or to be reunited with their original caretaker. We also feed/water the homeless animals in the 650 square miles left devastated by Katrina, which gives us a unique opportunity to converse one-on-one with residents and educate them on animal welfare and good stewardship of our planets creatures.
