Cause Description:
Unable to find an support group of owners of pets with cancer, I started the EndlessLove email list (now named PetsWithCancer) in 1998. We provide support and information for owners of any kind of pet with any kind of cancer. We have had people who have joined us while they were waiting for biopsy results and others who have joined us after the loss of their pet. We help others understand medical terms, options, deal with grief and lack of understanding from family, friends and co-workers. We are there for the owners whether they feed kibble or raw, choose to treat or not, regardless of type of treatment chosen. While those things are important, what we really care about is that the owner get the support and information they need to deal with what's happening to their pet and to their family. Funding is used for three purposes. First, maintenance of the group website costs (which are minimal). Second, financial assistance for owners who can afford ongoing treatment, but are unable to afford initial treatment (usually surgery or amputation). And third, funding of cancer research.
