Cause Description:
Friends For Life is the only LEED-certified green No Kill animal shelter in Texas. Incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 2002, the FFL mission is to provide a No Kill option to the Houston community by rescuing, treating and rehoming animals within the No Kill model of sheltering. The animals' health and comfort was the primary driving force in the design of the shelter. Every room has 100% outside air turned over 15 times an hour. Sunlight reaches every animal (and staff) workspace thanks to numerous skylights. Cageless cat rooms with 19-foot ceilings and climbers keep the kitties happy and healthy. A 'real life' dog living area is set up for the dogs. Our shelter is unlike any you've ever experienced! You have to see it to believe it!
