Friends of the Family is one of southern Californias premier family resource centers, providing a lifeline of support for over 5,000 families each year. The agencys roster of family strengthening programs and services ensures a balanced approach to family support, with programs designed to address the needs of family members at all ages and stages of life. The many normal transitions that families face as children grow and develop are challenging in and of themselves. When complicated by stressors such as language barriers, isolation, economic hardship, substance abuse, or domestic violence, families can fall apart, leaving children with no sense of safety and security and little hope of growing into healthy, productive adults. Friends of the Family provides a safe harbor for these children and families.
