Cause Description:
The Hoplite Foundation is a horse rescue group that works to help ex-racehorses who are in imminent risk of being sent to a slaughterhouse. Many of the horses leaving the racetrack are in need of R&R, vet care and/or rehabilitation. We strive to see that they get what they need. Horses are placed in appropiate adoptive homes or retired and their care provided for by the Hoplite Foundation for the rest of their lives. We also work towards educating people about the amazing versitility, intelligence and athletic ability of these remarkable horses. Thoroughbreds have the ability to excel in any of the many horse activities people participate it. We're hoping that more and more people will become owners of Off the Track Thoroughbreds and that many more of them will go on to long and happy new lives when the racing careers come to an end.
