The New Jersey Workshop for the Arts (NJWA) is a dynamic non profit arts organization established in 1972. We are a premier arts educational center committed to the goal of creating a vibrant intergenerational arts community. Our purpose is to offer high quality arts instruction and some of the most innovative musical educational programs in New Jersey. The goal of our outstanding faculty of professional artists, musicians and educators is to generate an excitement and enthusiasm for the arts. NJWA started as a modest 5 week summer music program and has grown into a multi-dimensional arts center attracting over 1500 participants from over 40 towns throughout New Jersey. The NJWA has eight divisions which create opportunities to study the arts, perform and exhibit. Our ensembles include two orchestras, two jazz bands, a concert band, a professional opera company and an alphorn ensemble. Our performers are children and seasoned professionals ages 6-90. This year, the NJWA will perform approximately 175 times in five New Jersey counties before approximately 200,000 people. We are the vital center of arts education, a partner to other non-profits and the source of memorable performances enhancing the quality of life in New Jersey.
